Hi, I am Stephanie Floer, owner & sole proprietor of Sensible Wellness Solutions. I became a personal trainer, weight management consultant, & Nutrition Specialist after I retired from teaching elementary & middle school in Cornwall, New York.
In the 1980’s my second graders were doing jumping jacks between lessons. My principal never said a word. Great!
During the 1990’s, I suppose another principal, as well, must have been thinking strange thoughts when I clamored into his office complaining about the food offerings in our school cafeteria. The “pop it in the toaster” breakfast was considered, and I quote, “2 breads & a fruit”. I was ranting and raving so much that the item was removed from the school’s formal breakfast program within a month.
My own children still remember and kid me about the “rule” while shopping for breakfast cereal—any one they wanted, as long as sugar was listed #3 in the ingredients column. I guess I had very positive ideas for healthful eating and knew to a limited extent that exercise was good for engaging children to learn better.
It came as no surprise to my family when I decided to pursue this field of education after my retirement. My master’s degree in education from the State Education Dept. of New York gave me the credentials to teach, while my certifications with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the American Academy of Sports Dietitians & Nutritionists (AASDN) give me the credentials to teach you ways to become healthier and more physically fit.
Please don’t think I am some super skinny person. Not true! I have issues. I like to eat—sometimes a lot! I can be lazy. I travel at times, which makes it difficult to maintain a regular schedule of healthy eating & exercising. So, I guess that I have the same issues you may have. We both know how much continuous effort it takes to stay healthy and be fit!
I choose to help you, because I understand how difficult it is to stay the course. I know that you don’t want to give up “living” in order to eat healthfully; nor do you want to spend hours in a gym to realize a fit body composition. I’m not the type of person who will train you like a military boot camp would. I prefer moderation, but commitment. I bring to my business a sense of understanding.
Let me help you learn to eat healthier, create an exercise plan, manage your weight, and reduce your health risks. You don’t have to give up “living” in order to live well!

You ARE the one for this endeavour. After working with you for so many years, you always had the right ideas about life and chowing down. You had the knowledge of what and when to eat and how to conduct your life choices to maintain great health. Hugh
