After yesterday’s blog from a soapbox, I’ve decided to go lightly today!Therefore, I’ll choose just one little supplement to mention-fish oils. They are touted to supply amounts of healthy Omega 3’s, just the same as fish do. The problem becomes — what are you not getting when you choose a capsule over the food? In addition to the Omega 3’s found in fatty, cold water fishes (like salmon) are proteins, minerals, & probably other nutrients we don’t even know about yet!
So, try to get the real thing–food–not supplement–when striving for those Omega 3’s. Here’s to your finding joy in eating! Swallowing supplements is kinda like the space age in which foods aren’t needed any longer. No need to eat meals, simply switch to a pill. Yuck! I guess I enjoy my meals too much to hope for that day to ever arrive! Stephanie
